Knowledge Services is Requesting Your Help
Indianapolis, IN, - Knowledge Services is now requesting your help in the form of pasta, rice, and spice donations.
![]() |
Did you know? More than 1 in 10 Hoosier households face food insecurity. This means these households do not know from where their next meals will come. Enter, local organization, Second Helpings. Second Helpings has provided nearly 5.5 million meals in 2011 alone. |
Second Helpings has also graduated more than 400 adults from their Culinary Job Training Program. As a result, restaurants all over the city of Indianapolis, and surrounding areas, have a workforce of individuals in the ready experienced in entry level kitchen service.
Second Helpings, Inc. accepts donated perishable and overstocked food to prepare nutritious meals for thousands of hungry children and adults every day. They distribute these meals, free of charge, through local social service agencies in Greater Indianapolis. Second Helpings also trains unemployed and underemployed adults for meaningful careers in the culinary industry.
We want to spice things up, so this is a food drive with a twist! Second Helpings goes through hundreds of pounds of pasta and rice per month! Let’s help refill their shelves! Bring in any unopened pasta or rice and we will try to load their shelves! SPICES TOO! What is a good spaghetti without some oregano and basil? And Cajun Rice without spice is just…rice.
We encourage you to share your bounty. From November 1-21, we will be collecting donations at our 5875 Castle Creek Parkway, Indianapolis location. Then, as ambassadors of your good will, we will hand deliver these items to Second Helpings.
Join us in support of Second Helpings’ mission to eliminate hunger, empower people, and reduce waste..

Knowledge Services Certified Nationally as a Woman Owned Business Enterprise
Knowledge Services has been certified as a business owned and controlled by a woman by the National Women Business Owners
Corporation (NWBOC). The goal of the certification program is to streamline the certification process and increase the ability of women business
owners to compete for contracts at a national level.
"Certification provides a marketing opportunity for women business enterprises to participate in outreach programs," says Julie Bielawski, CEO of Knowledge Services. "In addition, this program will enable us to develop relationships with larger companies and create opportunities for future partnerships with them and public and private companies."
"NWBOC seeks to increase the ability of women business owners to compete for corporate and government contracts," says Janet Harris-Lange, President of NWBOC. "At the same time, NWBOC also hopes to decrease the number of front operations participating in corporate and government outreach programs."
NWBOC, a national 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, was created in response to needs identified by the Procurement Special Interest Group of the National Association of Women Business Owners. The study revealed that the public and private sector had not received nor recognized the benefits of contracting with women suppliers. This has prevented purchasers from obtaining the best value in their procurements and it has limited women business owners from penetrating these markets, which has stymied their growth. NWBOC seeks to provide more corporations with the opportunity to better their procurement practices and to women suppliers the opportunity to compete.

The Knowledge Services team would like to congratulate the Indiana Department of Revenue (IDOR) on their great success with the Tax Amnesty Program! We wish to thank the Department for allowing us to play a supporting role by providing amnesty program training to the DOR service professionals entrusted with this mission. Over a four week period, Knowledge Services lead 150 DOR employees through an intensive training program designed and developed to prepare them for every aspect of their Tax Amnesty responsibilities.
The ratification of Bill 1004 presented the members of the DOR with a weighty challenge to collect millions of dollars in past due taxes. Through their judicious planning and skillful implementation, the department has surpassed their 65 million dollar goal by more than three times! According to Governor Daniels, the incomplete results show $197.7 million collected in delinquent state taxes, providing valuable funding for the State of Indiana.
Well done, members of the Indiana Department of Revenue!
